Black and white are matching and common colours from old days. Black and white were the colours used in old days films and photographs. Not only in past nowadays also you can see black and white designs. There are black and white psychological designs and arts. There is always a reason for having black and white designs. As I mentioned above, black and white designs can express themselves plainly and directly. If the background is only black or white and the design is opposite colour it can express itself alone and clearly from the background. Which makes it easier to see the style of the design.

Another important factor of black and white is you need less colours(only black and white). Which makes it easier to design if you are less interested in colours. It is also time saving.
3. Colours are eye catching
Since black and white are literally opposite colours, the design will be specific.
4. Can take as a rough design
Before making a colourful design, you can make a black and white design and correct the styles and art. After that you can choose the colours. If not changing the style and art with the colours is difficult.
5. Can make a proper brand logo
In some brands the logo need to express something directly and need to be simple. In that type of designs black and white can be used.
